Computer Care Tips (Part 1)

It is not only computer sales and distributor companies that are giving computer care tips. Also, the computer rental provider hubs are publishing articles about the right way of taking care of the computer and its peripherals. Here are some points to practice in lengthening the life of your computer.

Taking care of a computer is just like taking care of your other valuable things. There are some things that should be done which to me are more of a ritual. The cleaning routine must be taken seriously; just like performing a ritualistic act to keep things work out fine.

Just like human beings, computers need enough air. Enough air circulation to keep them cool is necessary. Overheating would cause malfunctioning. The heat, if too much, could melt some semiconductor parts of the computer in the hard drive and may cause the computer to work inefficiently. The longer that you are using your PC, the higher voltage of electricity it consumes to enable faster running of its tasks requested by its user. You must avoid placing the computer in a very cramped place because of poor air circulation. However, big holes on the computer case such as the hard drive casings are also bad for the computer.

It is advisable that you should not plug other electronic devices while the computer is running. You must turn it off before plugging in another computer devices, especially is the devices you are plugging in uses relatively higher voltage of electricity. Of all devices, only USB devices are safe to plug in and out of the computer even when the computer is on because they are hot-swappable.
