Computer Troubleshooting Tips (Part 2)

...continued here..

If the both monitor and CPU are working but you are seeing a text on the monitor that says “Non-system disk or disk error,” you might have probably left an external drive such as diskette, CD, VCD or DVD. Remove or eject the external drive and restart your computer.

IF you have secured everything from cable to power source, but still nothing shows on the monitor but an error message display, this is the time that you will have to restart your computer all over again and again. If still nothing happens good, restart the computer then insert a Windows CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive or, if you've got a Macintosh, with a Mac OS disc in the CD-ROM drive.

Worse case such as problems with startup hard drive or operating system installed on it, you have to look for an expert computer troubleshooter. If nothing can be fixed, then it’s time to replace your hard drive. You will be losing the stored data which cannot be retrieved. This is the reason why saving backup files to external drive such as USB device is recommend.
